Wikevent:News 2007 4 14

Hi all. This is sort of an un-announcement since I don't actually have code to push right now, but I wanted to let you all know that I'm still around, but working more-or-less silently in the background. Unfortunately I don't have the kind of time to work on Wikevent that I used to have (what with the new baby). This is rapidly getting better though as Anoushka gets used to being in the world.

What I'm working on right now is an iCalendar uploader, which in order to get venues right has lead me to trying to figure out a way to correctly place an event at a venue no matter how the contributor enters its name. This is pretty hard, and of course it will never be 100%, but it's worth a try.

So anyway in order to achieve this I'm adding some database code to the Listing extension which will save a searchable keyname (or two) for each venue. The Event extension will then use this keyname to match up locations (hopefully) without regard to how they are entered.
