Psychedelic drone band SHALLOBOI has a lengthy history of relocation. Formed in Kansas City in 2001, the trio have moved around the country, facing "unemployment, soul-sucking poverty, and self-loathing" along the way. Recently settled in Chicago, SHALLOBOI celebrate the release of a new full length, Down to Sleep, here, an album of thickly woven layers of instrumentation and pleasant, hushed vocals. Experimental rock band A TUNDRA, thoughtful folk act CEILING STARS and ambient ensemble UMBRA & THE VULCAN SIEGE opens.
